This time, we had <a href=\"http:\/\/htor.inf.ethz.ch\/publications\/index.php?pub=187\">several<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/htor.inf.ethz.ch\/publications\/index.php?pub=203\">best papers<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/htor.inf.ethz.ch\/publications\/index.php?pub=209\">and<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/htor.inf.ethz.ch\/publications\/index.php?pub=208\">some<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/htor.inf.ethz.ch\/publications\/index.php?pub=207\">other<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/htor.inf.ethz.ch\/publications\/index.php?pub=206\">wins<\/a>, so we needed a party that would outgrow my apartment. Thus, we decided to occupy a hill nearby and have a back-to-nature barbequeue. <\/p>\n<p>Some consumption statistics for 16 people (for future planning):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> five bottles + 3 liters wine\n<li> 30 bottles of beer\n<li> 1 bottle brandy\n<li> nearly no consumption of non-alcoholic beverages (strange, we had 4l water and 9l juices)\n<li> 1.8 full-plate quiches\n<li> a bit Hummus \/ cucumbers etc.\n<li> 1\/2 large bowl potato salad\n<li> 1 bowl of stick bread\n<li> 1 leaf of bread (we had three)\n<li> 12 burger patties, 20 sausages\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thanks to everybody who contributed! Here some impressions:<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_01.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nWe started with stick-bread (a German tradition). The goal is to bake bred in the fire only using a stick and not to loose or burn it. Requires some skill.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_02.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nThen we started the adventurous grill &#8212; nearly fully made out of wood (other occupied the bbq spot with the metal equipment.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_03.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe view was nice and the weather cooperated nicely.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_04.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nOf course, it was only a matter of time until the wood construction caught fire &#8230;<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_05.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nWood grill v2, a bit better (watch the additional support structures). And somehow the stickbread must have been inspiring.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_06.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n(Parts of) the group.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_07.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nOther parts were making contacts with the cows, who first ignored us &#8230;<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_08.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n&#8230; but soon learned that we had beer &#8230;<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_09.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n&#8230; and then seemed rather happy.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_10.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nMaking charcoal in the fire.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_11.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe night was the nicest with the campfire.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_12.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n&#8230;<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<img src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/small_13.jpg\"><br \/>\n<br \/>\n&#8230; the rain-front moved in 10:40-ish exactly as predicted by the weather app provided by MeteoSwiss. Very well done!
