Abstract:
Changing underlying storage/memory technologies and machine architectures are demanding new features for OS level support. With SSDs creeping into HPC platforms and NVM over fabric a near term product, how to support memory and/or storage effectively is unclear. This talk delves into the challenges and opportunities these technology changes force on the OS community and what we need to do to best support application needs.
